It generally takes between 6-12 months to complete your training and become a fully qualified Driving Instructor. This can be done in less time but it all depends on your availability, your ability and how much time you’re able to devote to training. Our training can be tailored to fit around your current job.
Trainee License
Although we quote 6-12 months to become a fully qualified Driving Instructor, it is possible to start practising earlier than this on a trainee license. This can be a great way to gain valuable experience before your final exams and also to earn money as a Driving Instructor. We have been able to get our students on a trainee license within 12 weeks of starting their training on a part time training basis.Requirements
For your first step on this career path you need to fit the basic criteria set down by the Driving Standards Agency – DSA.- Full UK or European/Economic area unrestricted car driving license
- After qualifying, you must have held your license for at least four of the six years prior to entering the register.
- You must not have been disqualifying from driving at any time in the four years prior to entering the register.
- You need to be a ‘fit and proper’ person in the opinion of the DSA.
